You don't have to do that to prevent a code if you use a resistor in the ground wire from the switch to ground. I use a 33 ohm Radio Shack resistor # 271-1104 @ 5 for a buck.

Your more than welcome. And in case you think I'm real smart because I can give that # and know how to do this, I'm not. Someone else way smarter figured it out. I'm just really good at using what others have learned.

Yes, you just solder it into the ground wire. I can't remember if these need to go a certain way or not. You should probably check with the guys @ Radio Shack. They will know.

OK. so i just got mine done as well. BUT. when i hit the switch it locks up and then after about 3 seconds (not going hard on the pedal or anything) it unlocks and proceeds to get stuck in the gear i originally locked the TC from (3rd). So i then have to turn the truck off and turn it back on to get it to downshift... or start over basically. Otherwise it ends up getting stuck in 3rd gear. no matter if i keep going or slow down... any of this make sense? let me know if any of you might know why this is happening. hopefully i explained it well enough!!

i dont know what to tell ya. mabey you need to go back through and double check everything you did. i dont know if you did this resistor thing or the jumper wire. i did the jumper, bought a good switch, and made sure i had a good ground. other than go back through it, mabey your TC is worn out, i dont know. i just had my tranny rebuilt last fall, so everything is still new on mine. i dont know, i hope mabey something in that helped.

Does it work normally with the switch off and did it work normal before the switch installation? Did you pull the relay and if not did you install the resistor?

well it does work normal with the switch hooked up and in the "off" position. and it did work normal before the install. everything worked as should. ummm i finally pulled the relay today after using the truck while it was in the first 3 times... but today got the same results as before with the relay out and just the bridge wire in there... and i didnt do the resistor
