Default Fuel System Time..

It finally happen my vp44 is done for. So i figured i would take this time to fully go through the fuel system. Starting at the tank and working forward i like the air dog 150 for the price 499 at the moment. But moving up to the vp44 options im not sure what to go with i hear the so pump in the end will get better hp #s. The hrvp is an instant 70-100 hp. Then the monsters which seem to just be for the 1000hp guys. But im not sure which one will be my best fit. Im looking to end up making 500+ hp. I want one that might strain my stock turbo untill i can upgrade that too. Lastly what size/make of injector will bring it all together?

Thanks for any help u can provide,

Devin

Welcome to the site Coal Roller. 500HP on the normal stock SO pump is not a problem at all. I'm around the 425 area with the Edge Comp, Smarty Stack and just RV275 injectors.

Just make sure to go with larger fuel lines, get rid of the banjo bolts and replace them with high pressure fittings. A fuel pressure gauge where you can see it at all times. And if you have an Auto tranny, lot's a money for the rebuild. If you have a manual tranny a new beefier clutch is gonna be needed to keep that power turnin.

I hadn't heard of replacing the banjo bolts. Does the Air dog system come with the fittings or were do i get them? Its an Auto so after i get done here that will be my next task.

Vulcan makes a good pre-assembled big line kit that I would recommend. You can make your own system like some of us fools have done but it's a lot easier and most of the time cheaper to buy the kit.

Before you spend any money spend some time and read through these threads, they will go a long ways towards helping you understand the ins and outs of the fuel system and probably save you some money on having to do somethin over again once you understand it better.

Good to know.. I looked at the Belt Drive kit and think ill still do the Airdog w/ their high flow fuel module. Does anyone know what the peak hp for the so pump is? What about injectors?? I would like to be able to push over 500 with the set up i buy. I have i roomate with a d-max that needs someone to keep up with him.

You can make 500hp on a SOVP44 but your going to need a larger turbo, injectors, fuel system and some transmission upgrades.
