So why the question if you already have it installed? Just curious.

Sounds like you are not happy with whatever is running your pump.

I'd get this: BRASS HILBORN BYPASS, 40 PSI
pressure adjustable Bypass regulator, It comes set at 40 PSI or so, but is adjustable with shims. You will want to adjust it down to about 21 PSI.
You will have to run a return line back to your tank. (Some people go into the Fuel filler hose with a tee to get the fuel back into the tank.)

I'd use your truck's stock fuel pump wire to power the coil of a relay to feed the Walbro power, with a fuse as close to the source as possible.

You should have no problem maintaining Close to 21 PSI with that setup, no matter what your throttle foot is doing.

You should have a filter on the suction side of the pump also, to protect it. From what I've read and seen, 99% of all Walbro pump failures are debris related.

Rich sells em with his pump kits but only on special occasions by themselves. I know Rich(GDP) quite sellin Walbro pumps because of frequent failures after the new fuel. I spent a lot of time on the phone and workin with him settin up his Walbro kit he used to sell. I was one a the test dummies for it and the reason he started including the strainer type prefilter in the kit for it.

Just be careful with that pre-filter. It is needed but if you use anything that puts any restriction on fuel flow it will burn out that Walbro real quick. It's a strong pusher pump but weak as hell on the suction side. Anything you put in there has to be more of a strainer then a filter.

I called and talked to Rich yesterday, and he quit selling for pretty much the reasons I alluded to earlier, not because of failures with the fuel.

Unless of course, he was less than honest with me....

I'll be sure to keep an eye on my pump... Thanks for the heads up.

How much hp are you planning to make? I can pull my Airtex down to below 5 psi with just an ADR and 100 sticks. I'd be optimistic if I said I was 400-450 hp. The airtex is alright for a stock replacement. But it doesn't have much room for increase.

I custom built my walbro system last year using an aeromotive regulator from Jeg's and filter heads from NAPA. I set it up with a 15 micron water separator before the walbro, then the walbro, then the bypass with the return line sent back into the tank at the module (my tank has an extra port in the module) and from the regulator through a 2 micron filter to the IP. I mounted the whole works to a sheet of diamond plate aluminum and mounted it inside the driver's bedside. Left the filters on for a year and never noticed a pressure drop, and this truck is my daily driver. I set the regulator for 18 psi warm Idle and I have never seen it drop under 17 no matter how hard I am on the skinny pedal.
