Hey,whats up i wanted to know if anyone out there with the 5.9 cummins 03 and up ever has these noises. When im done with the truck for the day or even if it's been driven for a short amount of time i get these clunking and ticking noises when it's sitting cooling down. This happens after the turbo has been cooled to about 300 degrees and the truck has been turned off. I think it's the exhaust system cooling kind a like when the pipes in your duct work in your house when the heat comes on but i'm not sure. I just wanted to know if anyone else had these noises. This happens if the trucks been run hard or not. Just curious

 

Yep,my 01 does it,sounds almost like a u-joint ting.
Pretty sure it's just the exhaust cooling,or something.

 

yeah its just the truck cooling down, and the metal settling i guess you could say

Totally normal I got the same thing when I get out of the truck I hear the same tingin' and pingin' as I walk in front of the truck but it coming from under the cab area mostly... Like pipe contracting...
