yes you can just unplug the map sensor part of the edge(leave map sensor plugged in with no edge wires) and leave the data port plugged in it will work great for gauges that way. That way it's a stock truck till the map sensor is plugged in I did this today to test my apps if the edge was messing with it and still threw code added a spare apps my dad had and no codes.

is it adding timing? i would think you could stack it with the smarty, so long as the smarty is run on the odd umbers...

Yeah, it adds timing, so the Smarty couldn't. I was just hoping somebody here had run that stack before. Its a lot like the Edze EZ.

The Edge gets boost readings from the MAP sensor.

well you would have most of the gauges you needed. but sounds like the right choice waiting till he gets back and making it the way he wants it

yah i think thats what im going to do i just really want some more power and smoke now to have a little bit of fun before i leave but i just dont feel like spendin a bunch of money to get the truck how i want and needs to be if im not goin to be drivin it for three months

If you just want to make smoke, do us all a favor and just throw a few gallons of gas on it, light it and walk away.

Sorry guys, but making smoke just for the sake of it seems a bit dumb in todays world. Don't get me wrong, I use the loud petal to back off tailgaters on occasion, but smoking out neighborhoods is only gonna put an end to the fun we can have with these trucks. :hijack:

Now that I am off my soapbox, I can black out both directions of a freeway if I choose too. I ran a Smarty with a TST for quite some time waiting for them to work out the bugs. They never did, so I went back to a Juice.

Way more driveable, no surging, I could use my cruise again, on the fly adjustability and I did not have to clean off my quarters after just driving to the corner.

The 3rd gen Smarty is completely different than the 2nd gen. Since I use my truck for running down the hiway and towing my boat. I needed somethign that would be comfortable to drive, get good economy and work as advertised. Even an Edge EZ was an improvement. Also, the truck simply noses over with any stack with the Smarty. The Juice is simply faster and more powerful.

I know guys like the Smarty, but with big sticks, tall gears and larger than stock rubber, it's just flat twitchy.

but he has a great point here with the issue of smoke etc. It's getting to the point some do it just because they can and new laws and checks are being put in place. Here in cali it's going to suck... they are going to smoke test, check turbo and exhaust, plug into computer to see if you have a programmer etc. He isn't saying not to want smoke, but to use it wisely.
