The quad smokes a little bit more than my comp box but really they are about the same when both are on the high setting. Now I aint sayin your gonna blanket the freeway, none of them seem to smoke THAT bad even on the high settings. As far as a power comparison, the smarty doesnt seem to have quite as much snot as the quad or comp. BUT the comp and quad are to close power wise to tell a difference, IMO if anybody says there is a big difference in power between those 2 I would say they are being more bias than truthful. Also my mothers truck and mine are identical trucks with the same mods minus her having 35 inch tires over my 33s and the quad over my comp. And driving to the local big city(which is half country roads half highway and about 150 miles away) her truck on economy setting with the quad gets her 24 and mine on level 2 on comp gets me 23. I choose the Comp box because it is simple to use/adjust and you cant beat the price of it for what you get. I hope I am helping but if you have any more specific questions fire away. Oh one nice thing about the quad is high idle. Here in PA it gets pretty cold in the winter so hi idle is a plus.

I never ran the Quad, but have ran the other two. Still running the Smarty, and it delivers good mileage. The Comp has unbeatable power for the price, IMO. The Comp is adjustable, which can make things easier to control in poor weather. I live in Canada, so this is very helpful. The Smarty is adjustable as well, but needs to be done through the OBDII, unless the Insight can do it. I thought the adjustability of the Smarty through the insight was only for CR trucks. I may be wrong.

The comp is sounding promising. I just dont like how confusing the quad seems with all that stuff. The edge will work for me for a while, maybe down the road when im pushing more power i might switch over to quad or smarty stacked with something else.

Thanks for info guys, im still open to all into though i want to be 100% sure when i buy it.

RA, ive also heard insight can work to change on fly, but im not sure where i read it. Was on cumminsforum, but cant remember if it was CR's or VP's that i was looking at

I agree with 53 block 100% on the power of the Edge vs Quad. The quad does offer a myriad of adjustments where the Edge doesn't. I run the quad and my brother runs the smarty. Identical trucks to include turbo, injectors, and trans. His has "way mo betta" off the line but I catch up and pass quick. The quad can get very, very hot depending on the tune I run. What it comes down to, is do you want adjustability on the fly? (edge or quad). Do you want the ease of install? (smarty). Best re-sale? (Smarty). Most tuning options? (Quad). Most power with ease of operation? (Edge). It's not an easy decision. It took me 5 months to make it. And thats because I got a killer deal on a used Quad (I'm elated I ended up with it, soooo many options with one box). Also the Smarty does 3cylinder high idle. (scared the $h!t out of me first time it did it!!!).

I seriously wish you the best of luck. It's a very difficult decision to make. You will need lots of beer!

Either way you go, you'll need a clutch (the smarty, though not as much HP as edge still will tear it up). And I personally feel that the Smarty would be the best choice for now if all you want is mileage and bottom end (the mileage setting is spectacular! as well as off the line tire shredding ability). Then later I'd go Quad or redline box if you want to stack for power. One can never go wrong with a Smarty!

Well i might just do that then! If i get the smarty though, will it smoke a ton on mpg tune? I dont want to join the "cool" crowd. I dont mind a little if im gaining something, but i dont like idiots that "roll coal" all over the place.
