plan on eventually spending some cash on the trans or even better find one that someone has already bit that bullet on.There are plenty of them out there that have already been built to handle the torque that they put out.....just not from the factory,unfortunatly.....mine was starting to gear search at 24k miles......But,I admit I was pretty damn hard on that truck!

if ford had cummins it would be a market hey day! fords tranny and truck with the reliable and low rpm power of a cummins.
Get the last production year 5.9 CR, Suncoast tranny kit.... and you're good to go...

Ok so just because you havnt experienced it means it doesnt happen? Thats pretty ignorant if I do say so myself, my 6.0 hasnt blown headgaskets, my friends 06 hasnt blown headgaskets, my other friends 04 hasnt blown headgaskets....that doesnt mean that they dont do it

I've owned all 3 domestic makes of diesel truck and I must say that I honestly prefer the D Max over the Cummins and 7.3L (naturally aspirated). The dodge was my baby but it cost to much to maintain. It is definitely a true diesel but in comparison to the others the dmax has been the least expensive and I have 300,000k on my 06 GMC 3500 SRW D Max welding rig and 42,000k on my '11 Chev 2500 DMax. I had to replace lift pump. injector pump, cluster problems, lousy tranny etc in the dodge. I sold the dodge and do miss the sound of the dodge and the way it starts so fast in cold weather but the DMax pulls way better than my dodge ever did.
I have my 06 loaded down with full welding equip (Lincoln 300D etc. etc.) and when I have my 32 ft. Travel Trailer hooked up it pulls way better than my dodge ever did without the welding equipment.

I guess you have never seen a built 12v run then as they are deep into the 9's with them and running 8's in trucks. It's all in proper tuning and matching turbo to injectors.

I'm not ignorant, just saying I've never even heard of it happening. My dad owns 4 of them, 4 guys that work for us all have 6.7s, and my grandpa has another 2 of them. The ones we have at the company pull 10,000 lb Cat skid loaders daily. With how many we all have together, you would think we would've heard about it by now.

Not talking trash. But I would go with a 6.4. My truck has mods in sig and out weighs most of the dodges and chevy around here and I have yet to be beat by one. Last time I went over the scales the truck weighd well over 9000. Now I have even more tools. And I dont even have a race tune just hot street.

Can't wait to bump timing to 21°, maybe i'll just set it to 19°...
I set the timing at 17 It does run a lot better. It was at 13.5
I have the twins now, but on closer inspection of the motor I have a tiny, tiny external water leak on the side of #6. So this winter I am going to do a gausket and studs, camshaft.
Still trying to decide on what to do to the head as far as porting, and orings.

Transmission is going to need a complete build to
