Ford vs dodge vs chevy

plan on eventually spending some cash on the trans or even better find one that someone has already bit that bullet on.There are plenty of them out there that have already been built to handle the torque that they put out.....just not from the factory,unfortunatly.....mine was starting to gear search at 24k miles......But,I admit I was pretty damn hard on that truck!

yeah after reading all of this i thing the common rail 5.9 is going to be my next ruck im thinking the last possible year wiht a auto in it. is the dodge auto any good by the last year of the 5.9? to bad ford cant just buy a cummins contract.
if ford had cummins it would be a market hey day! fords tranny and truck with the reliable and low rpm power of a cummins.

I've owned all 3 domestic makes of diesel truck and I must say that I honestly prefer the D Max over the Cummins and 7.3L (naturally aspirated). The dodge was my baby but it cost to much to maintain. It is definitely a true diesel but in comparison to the others the dmax has been the least expensive and I have 300,000k on my 06 GMC 3500 SRW D Max welding rig and 42,000k on my '11 Chev 2500 DMax. I had to replace lift pump. injector pump, cluster problems, lousy tranny etc in the dodge. I sold the dodge and do miss the sound of the dodge and the way it starts so fast in cold weather but the DMax pulls way better than my dodge ever did.
I have my 06 loaded down with full welding equip (Lincoln 300D etc. etc.) and when I have my 32 ft. Travel Trailer hooked up it pulls way better than my dodge ever did without the welding equipment.

ok so alot of this is opinion based stuff guys. i want to see an old 12 vavle woop a 6.0 from 0-60 though that would be sweet. i have a hard time beliving it but everything could be possible. i am also in the mind set of my slow 6spd. are there any awsome videos showing and old 12v killing a power joke? btw i bleed blue for ford but i got to admit the 6.0 might have a stought bottom end but bottom end doesnt do **** when the top end blows through the hood. i will give it to cummmins. they bolt it together and it doesnt come appart.

Not talking trash. But I would go with a 6.4. My truck has mods in sig and out weighs most of the dodges and chevy around here and I have yet to be beat by one. Last time I went over the scales the truck weighd well over 9000. Now I have even more tools. And I dont even have a race tune just hot street.

Tune your AFC, slide your plate full forward and set timing to 17°
My truck will destroy a stock 6.6 Dmax and a Powerjoke with a Superchip is having a hard time.. and i'm still at 13,5°... read my sig...
Can't wait to bump timing to 21°, maybe i'll just set it to 19°...

I have the twins now, but on closer inspection of the motor I have a tiny, tiny external water leak on the side of #6. So this winter I am going to do a gausket and studs, camshaft.
Still trying to decide on what to do to the head as far as porting, and orings.
Transmission is going to need a complete build to
