Ford vs dodge vs chevy
 

ok i am a ford guy. thats it, its out now every one knows. but my cummins is my baby!

i want to know witch truck is faster when its aftermarket.

the ford 6.0/6.4?
the cummins 5.9 2nd/3rd gen?
the cheverlet-ya-down 6.6<-- i believe?

aftermarkit stuff will be coming form a working mans wallet. so no extreemly rediculus mods would be made!

i have a 24v with a 6speed and my buddy has a 6.0 stock and it smoked my truck in a race.
i have got a new clutch a programmer 100 hp injectors im running a vgt turbo and the same exact tires as him. we raced again after i put all of this on my truck, and it was clear to me his auto was the winner. i had more power could walk all over him, but imbetween shifts i lost more ground every time.
then i hear the 6.4 is faster?
on top of that i was told the chevy is even faster then that?
now im in a 2001 so i am thinking the 3rd gens must be faster then mine or is cummins falling behind in acceleration(not power)?
i like videos and educated opinions. oh what about deribility to.

all said and done im after buying another truck but i want this thing to be quick and use the good ol reliable Cummins for the pullin and abuse.

I've got a 2nd gen cummins with an automatic, edge juice with attitude chip, 100gph airdog lift pump and my brother has an 02 duramax with the same mods...i can beat him off the line but he always gets me after 3d gear

yeah thats it exactly! once i get out of my torque i get stepped on. i got a great lonch too but i wish i had an auto...

6.6 and 6.4 can be turned into very fast trucks. I would go for the 6.6, more comfortable ride, less injector issues (from what I've heard). If you get into a '06 or early '07, you have a potent engine to start with.

Duramax, definately... Or just get a 12valve...

..... a 12 vavle could not keep up with my truck.... let alone a stock 6.0 or 6.4 at that matter.

so it sounds like 6.6 duramax.... i dont think i could go to a chevy though.... i would rather run a ford any day of the weak so... the 6.4 have any major problems? what kind of spool do they have and what kind of stuff is needed to get rid of the emissions :edit:

All trucks are fast when you stick a ton of 100 dollar bills under the hood.

I think best bang for the buck is a 04 1/2-07 5.9 commonrail EFI live and a built auto. This combo will beat a lot of trucks. Need a little more add some 100 hp injectors and a little bigger turbo. OR do it right and put on some twins with studs.

First off your racing a 6 speed vs an auto. Dumb. If you are expecting to win then you have another thing coming. I have never once thought that my 5spd is faster than any auto. If you have a lead foot like you keep talking about and all you care about is how fast your truck is then you have the wrong truck. A auto is what you need. A 5.9 Commonrail with some good EFILive tuning will eat most any stock or slightly modified trucks. Manual trucks are good for pulling and driving, not going fast. :c:

Seems funny to me, Cause I have a 12 valve, Marine 310 injectors, with some timing advance, upgraded TC, and TL switch. A chipped 6.0 ford pulled up beside me, and he was about a half length in front of me, but once it locked up in 3rd I could only see smoke and headlights behind me. The kid couldn't believe it, and was stunned when he saw I had just over 354000miles on mine.

It all depends on what your are running for gears, and a standard will never be faster than a automatic.

Good old 12 valve is reliable, and easy to make HP. Can't wait to put my twins on it in the spring.

Good thing about the 24 valves is that you can turn it up with the touch a button, so if you go to the track, or sled pull, you bring up the power, and bring it back down when you go home.

I wouldn't drive anything other than a dodge, cummins all the way.
