i've read numerous claims of all kinds of problems with the 6.4...

And btw... for 0$ you can easily outrun a stock 6.0 and dmax with a 12valve !!!

At least that's my experience...

I honestly don't think my 12 valve auto could be a prius. And I have a 0 fuel plate. I always heard how easy they are to get power out of. I don't think so.

I have twin turbos on order and hope it wakes it up.

I would say that if I had to go out and buy an 08 or newer truck today, I would probably buy a 6.4 powerstroke. And believe me, that's hard for me to admit. Used Duramax's are extremely expensive and it just seems to me that the newer Dodge's just aren't up to par with the rest of the market. For a fast truck, I personally think that you'd be hard pressed to beat a reg. cab 4x4 6.4 powerstroke with a mini max, intake, & exhaust. JMO

this is all good imput! and i am fully aware of my manual problwm to.... i have had many people willing to trade straight up a built auto for my 6spd but the work required to do so is so exstensive. it would take to long for a guy to come out of god knows where and swap the tranny, computers drive shafts steering colums wiring harness, and tranny cooler.
does anyone know of an auto tranny that is 100% computer free? of course it will have to handle my tuck torque.

back to the thread though. a 5.9 commin rail wiht a built auto tranny is the way to go for a fast bob tail,a strong pull and, a durible brute?

Tune your AFC, slide your plate full forward and set timing to 17°

My truck will destroy a stock 6.6 Dmax and a Powerjoke with a Superchip is having a hard time.. and i'm still at 13,5°... read my sig...

Can't wait to bump timing to 21°, maybe i'll just set it to 19°...

oh you are a bada$$ your modified 12valve can beat a stock tuned truck. 6.0s are tuned way way slow stock and the 05+ are even worse. Duramax I dont know about the stock programming. 6.4s have their fair share of problems but they make 600hp on a tune and come with transmissions that can handle that HP, not forever but they can handle it and the bottom ends are stoudt just like the 6.0s

ok so alot of this is opinion based stuff guys. i want to see an old 12 vavle woop a 6.0 from 0-60 though that would be sweet. i have a hard time beliving it but everything could be possible. i am also in the mind set of my slow 6spd. are there any awsome videos showing and old 12v killing a power joke? btw i bleed blue for ford but i got to admit the 6.0 might have a stought bottom end but bottom end doesnt do **** when the top end blows through the hood. i will give it to cummmins. they bolt it together and it doesnt come appart.

I love it... i've used and abused mine...

only stock part to fail was the clutch... i've even had drive pressures up to 75psi... not even a blown HG...
