In my case they did not. They only held for a month after pulling the head off and O-ringing the block, and installing the mighty diesel head bolts. When I was talking to tony afterwards he said the guy who he gets them from said they were not ment to be used with o-rings, and we're not meant to hold as much drive pressure as we figure mine was making.

when you put firerings in you have to pull the head down to 150lb to crush the rings. with just orings i do not see it making a difference tho. 12mm arp's are not susposed to be used with a firering gasket setup because they are not susposed to be pulled past 125lb note that i said susposed to be. me and several others have pulled the arps past the recommended limit with good luck. the 12mm extreme studs are good for up to 140lb so we are using them now.

Yep, fire-rings work best with 14mm studs, O-rings are good with 12mm. But you need to do the re-torques. Even with the Extreme studs, I torqued mine 5 times before all of the nuts stopped moving.

Tony's bolts are great if you're just using the gasket, as long as you understand that they do have limitations. Mine went way further than I expected. There were several passes that they saw triple digit boost, but took the jump in timing to finaly blow the gasket.

i am running them with orings since we had the head ported on my truck this past winter. i have about 10 passes on the truck so far. brian vannest performance has installed them in hundreds of trucks around here. i also have sold several hundred sets over the internet. i have had a few fail for some odd reason. i am thinking 3 or 4 sets. i also have sold arps that guys had to fail. brian does a bunch of putting them in 1 at a time too.

this pertains to the un o-ringed/fire-ringed head. what about timing. if you are running studs and or these bolts what is a realistic place to be timing wise? surley more than 16.5 like everyone says for stock head bolts.
