Default How To Make SMOKE And Lots Of It!

Hey guys, got a 97 ram 2500 with the old cummins oil burner...

The truck is just another play toy (definately no daily driver street rig)and i want to get this thing to roll out the smoke. Im not talking a little hoot of smoke when you stomp the loud pedal, im talking about blowing clouds of BLACK smoke that block out the sun for 30min!

Also looking to have a little power behind all that smoke...

I dont think anything looks better than an oil oil burner stopped, spooling the turbo(s) and pouring out clouds of smoke as it takes off like a f'n rocket!

What do you figure is required for such an occasion?

Throw out the fuel plate and gut the afc and she will smoke. Also make sure it has a good fresh fuel filter in it. I dont suggest doing this without at least a egt guage.

cranked the starwheel all the way forward and moved the fuel plate about 3/4 of the way forward and it really woke up the truck!

Dont have my gauges on right now so i dont want to slide the plate all the way forward just yet!

Anyone know how much HP a 215 pump would be pushing with the stock plate all the way forward?

if you just purchase a cut fuel plate like a #5 like mine you will boost the power up quite a bit also i just put in my #5 fuel plate friday at 1/4 and it leaves a smoke trail the length of a freeway on-ramp

Once i get the pyro in ill be grinding the plate myself, why pay a couple hundred bucks for something i can do in 5min and cost nothing?

Anyone know if these things will run pretty hot with the stock plate all the way forward? I want to try sliding it all the way but ill wait for the gauges if its known to be hot like that.

I think that would be a wise move. Why chance it?
