You cannot unscrew the injectors. There is an alignment ball pressed into the injectors that fits into the head.

I just thread a lug nut on the injector and then tap it with a hammer til it pops loose, then pull it out by hand, I did the pipe trick the first time or two, then lost the pipe and didn't bother cutting a new one.

i wont try now till wednsday to get them off but thanks for all the info it makes a big difference. i ended up getting industrial injecton 370HP stage two injectors.

well when i changed the injectors on mine i had a slide hammer on hand which worked well for 1-5 and on #6 i took a piece of all thread and took the weight off of the slide hammer and put it on the shortend all thread then just threaded the propper nut ontothe all thread and worked like a charm

Im sure that cummins has a specialty tool, but prolly cost arm in a leg to purchase

The injectors I bought came with the threaded nut for the top of the injector. Prybar and about 1 hour, they were R&R'd.. Clean up and the like took another 1.5 hours.

mine came direct from industrial injection but now tool so i will do it lug nut on friday
