Default shift kit? does it make a difference

i have a 1996 dodge ram 2500 auto. does a shift kit really make any difference when driving? i just dont want to get it and it not be any difference? also my second question is if i do decide to get one which company has everyone dealt with and had good luck?

what are you trying to do with it? building an auto or swapping for a manual is the best things to do in the cummins.

a shift kit really is not going to make it drive any different. It would almost be inpossible to tell difference. A shift kit will raise trans line pressure and shift manners. A shift kit will help your tranny last longer and hold the extra power you are making. A convertor (low stall) and shift kit go hand and hand. Get both then you will feal your truck run stronger. I used trans-go has worked well for me 50,000 miles so far.

okay thats what i needed to know. i have never dealt with shift kits before. yea trans go is the one i have heard used and suggested a lot so i will probably end up going with them

A shift kit is definitely worth the money! With that and a TC you should be okay to hold a chunk of HP
