Thats what I was afraid of. I had to play around with mine for about three hours trying to find the setting I liked, and then on top of that I've had to go back and re-tighten them on two different occasions.

And I'm using Pacbrake GSK and valvesprings, but from what I hear, they're the problem child of GSK kits. Do you have a brand you recommend?

I'm also using pacbrake gsk springs that I bought from a sponsor on this site could that be my problem ?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

So do I add shims under all the springs using the ones that came out of the stock springs ?

Will this also help me with my starting issues if I add shims under it ?

Sorry for the questions but I'm new to modding diesels always been a gasoline guy so I'm learning as I go

Give Columbus Diesel a call. Wonder if anyone knows who makes those springs for pacbrake?

Just under the outer spring, the object is to preload the rpm springs to increase rpm without putting extra preload on the idle springs. Itll be a combo of a certain amount of clicks and a certain amount of shims. It can be a pain to get it perfect.

is 2800 under load or free revving?????? under load you arnt going to get much more than 2800rpms without a bunch of fuel and air. and i think bout everybody has to touch the pedal to start their truck when they have different springs in them, i know i do. and a stock shim in an aftermarket seat will only effect rpms not idle quality because there is no more preload on the idle spring. i have PEAK springs and they were tempermental as hell, think i took the pump apart 3 times before i go them dialed in where i wanted them. i really would suggest not taking your pump off and having it benched, waste of money unless you are wanting substantial power gains in the future or you are experiencing internal pump issues. keep piddling with the springs you will get it. if you shim the middle spring i would only use 1 shim due to the fact that with 2 it is VERY possible for the spring to come off of its seat. there isnt much lip left once you add a shim. FYI my truck free revs well past 4000rpms but under a load its in the mid 3000's.

Its under load that im seeing those rpm. So I would need more fuel like bigger injectors and turbo to get more rpm or should I try shiming the spring with one of those shims that came out of the original springs. I will in the future be adding bigger injectors and turbo once I find a good deal on them.

your fine. i would leave it alone. it is doing what it is supposed to. shimming it wont hurt but all sounds fine to me.

Thanks for the help, but let me ask you one more question now that I installed the springs my egt are a lot hotter which I'm fine with but when I lay into it can go to 1300 deg. Real quick. I don't run a fuel plate because I was trying to get the most out of it before the spring install so should I put it back in to lower the egt ? Or do I need a bigger turbo in it ? I have a 4 inch exhaust so it's flowing pretty good
