Default 181 DV's Worth It?

I have a chance to pic up some 181s and was wondering what I will gain from bigger dv's like this on my setup. How much more egt do you think I will pickup? and how much fuel over all will it throw down? I can already roll good coal and get about 1200* in fith on the floor on the high way and 41psi, I dont want to go to much higher but Id like to maybe smooth out the power alil especially the down low power.

You should be good, and if you can get them for pretty cheap, then why not? But you'll probally be getting a little hot. Turn your starwheel back a little and you should be good though. Hitting 1500* or so is ok as long as its only for a couple split seconds.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Well I went shopping today and Ive never watched the egts in 4th but I watched them today geting on the freeway and I taped the guage out at 1500 and let off, it just creeped its way up there and I wasnt able to finish 4th I just let up and went to 5th, So now Im not to sure about putting down more fuel.is there any way I can push some more boost to lean things out alil or cool egts some how?

yeah upgrade to a bigger turbo(s) or adjust your wastegate or run n20 that will lean you out, just make sure you have head studs if your gonna play with nitrous. or water, and meth injection kit. i would say nitrous is better for your motor as long as you don't use too much, but with the egt's your pushin too much would be hard to do. do a search for nitrous, and you should get whatever you wanna know.

since you have a 95 and those pumps had 131 dvs and your going to 181's which are stock in 180 and 215 pumps. you should notice that it will be much harder to keep from pegging your egt and boost gauge, i hope you have a 60psi boost gauge. let me know what happens and you might pickup an extra 20hp. oh as for nitrous, its actually very safe in a diesel, not cheap to get a kit but safe, and great bang for the buck. and the best thing is the worst that will happen, is you could hit a button too early and not have enough boost built and enough egt's and your motor would stall. and then you just restart it and your back. nx has a kit where its tied into your boost reference and it adds nitrous oxide once it sees 8-10 psi i believe so. pretty safe

I think Im going to hold off on them becuase Ive had some stuff break on the truck in last couple days, like the track bar blowing off while going down the road. I dont want to push more boost right now either becuase my HG is hanging on by a thread.
