Are you going to be hooking your speedo back up? I havent found much info on that part of the swap yet.

no, I really could care less about it. its been unhooked since I swaped the 241 dhd in last year

Does your vacuum switch work properly?

The 271 swap on my 2002 was pretty simple. No beating on the body. With the 6 speed I had to grind the frame a little. With the auto if fits right in the hole in the frame.

I removed mine and installed my own posi lock ... but all you should have to do is intsall the vac switch in the 271 and switch some vac lines but I don't see why it should not work

Mine has a non-cad axle. The switch is just an electric one to run the light on the dash. It didn't work before the swap and since it is a manual shift transfer case I've never been concerned about it.

I was just curious.
