HX35 rebuild questions (maybe a 35/40 hybrid)
the reason i said find another 35 was beacuse i assumed yours was toasted because your were asking about a rebuild,
2nd i said find a 40 because you wouldnt have to get it machined to make it all work, on mine i found a old 40 that was laying around a shop that was missing the exhaust housing but was still in great condition, and used those 40 parts with 35 parts i had laying around so the whole turbo cost me $0 to build except for the fact that i bought a 14cm housing for $100 a few months later

out of the thing before its gets some work done.2) Gotcha. Either way my turbos gonna need some work.
And I would too, but Im considering reducing my parts list and not getting injectors, so I dont need a 62, and was lookin for a cheap upgrade from my stock 35.
I sure hope it works that way. I removed a HX40 from a Cummins engine on a piece of forestry equipment. A very odd failure on the turbos part. The exhaust housing and center section became loose from one another, yet all the bolts were still tight. The compressor wheel and housing are still in great shape though. I was able to buy the core of the turbo for $168. Not a bad investment to get a HX35/40 hybrid.
I found two hybrid kits, one $250 and one $300. Where could I find a HX40 to yank, like what trucks generally came with an 8.3 Cummins?
