Default 4k gvsk and 60lb springs but hiccup

I just installed the 4k gvsk and 60lb valvesprings this afternoon after work and i drove the truck until it was up to operating temp. and only in second gear under a load it starts spitting around 3k. The truck had a hiccup in it before the springs but it was only when it was cold and under heavy acceleration. any ideas? the timing is still stock but that is bc of the stock headbolts and a marine gasket. what do i need to set the timing to if that is the issue? Thanks in advance.

I have 3ks and mine is set at 15.5* and works fine. I would say 16 or 16.5 would be fine.

did u measure to make sure the springs were equaly tight? mine did the same and when i measured them one was tighter then the other. equaled them out and issue was solved.

whats the easiest way to measure the springs tightness with them in. i did go the same number of clicks on the nut (3x each side) but why does it only do it in 2nd is my question. 3rd it does fine and 4th & 5th my clutch wont hold to find out not to mention my pyro will peg at 1600* in fourth but cruising speed it seems to run about 200-300 deg. cooler but the temp comes up faster when pulling since the install.

Have you checked fuel pressure? Use a set of dial calipers to measure the stud protrusion.

i havent checked the fp. just installed last night and had to spend some time with the gf today. but i will try to look into the fp and checking the gov. springs monday. BRE any suggestions on what injectors to use to get rid of the 370s and how to get my EGTs down? its cruising at 60 at about 600 whereas before it was 800 but it seems to build heat faster after the install. also any cheap upgrades for the hx35 to get some more air in there or just go ahead and spray it?

calipers to measure studs. Also check fuel pressure, and check timing, it might have slipped. Bump to at least 15.

Check with SDX or industrial injection (little cheaper and just as good if not better). 5x.012's if sticking with hx35. I wouldn't spray much on the hx35 either. Better to just get a bigger one.

Its building heat on the bottom end faster probably because it will fuel harder on the bottom end with 4k's. For an injector i can just suggest what i have read and know just from knowledge as i am still running stock injectors in my truck. However I hear great things about SDX and they seem to be real good guys to deal with. I know 94 12valve runs them and is very happy and his truck is no slouch. There is also Industrial, DDP but you will pay for those so to each his own. I would say 5x.012 with the 35 and if your gonna step up to like a 62 or 64 with a 14 exhaust housing since you have a 5 speed, and you could probably clear up some 5x.014's.
Others will chime in hopefully that have had more money to play than what i have had. From what guys say you can give ED a call and tell them what your after and they have top notch service and parts for a charger that is right for your truck and your driving style.
