60lb valve spring questions
if you "float the valves" then does that mean the push rod is leaving its seat and then restriking it on the next revolution. there for a moment isnt there slack in the valve system, I thought that bent and stressed parts leading to distruction. please elaborate more how far are we talkin 

I was always under the impression that the main problem with valve float was the valve actually striking the piston. This sees to be the worst case scenario seeing as how like you mentioned, it seems like this would be a good way to damage some valvetrain components.
I would think that damage is MORE LIKELY to occur on the exhaust side, but things could go wrong on the intake also. First you may lose some power because if your intake valve doesn't close in time it may take away from some of the compression stroke. I would also think that having so slop in the valve train wouldn't be the best either, this one for push rods more than anything.
