94 12v Ranch truck upgrades
I have a 94 12v 5 speed manual bone stock minus the hillsboro flatbed. I use it for ranch work and to tow my gooseneck stock trailer and equipment trailers. I want to get her some christmas presents to show her some TLC. I want to do intake, exhaust, and exhaust brake but I dont want to do it backwards. I'm thinking that I should get a better turbo and if so would the intake, exhaust, and exhaust brake be compatable or should I get a turbo first and compatable parts after. What is the best products (bang for your buck) that I should purchase. Or should I do something completely different. Im all ears.
What kind of exhaust brake are you looking at? Unless you get a remote 4" brake you may as well skip the 4" exhaust.
You need guages first, then an exhaust and maybe a BHAF or free flowing filter (I personally dont like K&N). Then you are ready for some fuel with a fuel plate (or modified stocker), 3 or 4k gsk springs. After that you will probably want some injectors and possibly a turbo upgrade. After that you may need to look at studs. Id say you can go to around 350 hp fairly cheap. After that, it gets more $$

I second Dr evil.. Guages first... that's critical, my truck is the same, its a ranch truck... I think a #10 plate (modified stock one) with a boost elbow will make you smile for a while, but what I'd like to add to Dr Evil's list is a clutch.. my was breaking loose in 5th with these mods, and the clutch lasted 3 days before it started slipping.. a year later, it's slipping bad and I'm looking for a new one still...
Yep, won't take too long before extra torque lights a fire in your clutch. You don't necessarily need a dual disk bank breaker, but I'd start planning on a clutch fairly early in the process. I personally recommend south bend clutches, though there are others that are probably really good as well for less money. Valair is one that I haven't seen anyone complain about.
You just can't get better customer service than south bend though. Those folks have gone above and beyond for me more than once, even to the point of sending me small free stuff (to replace stuff that I lost, not that broke) way way after any warranty on my clutch would have expired. No, I'm not affiliated with them, they've just been that good to me.

I was told it was the towing clutch, but I'm not sure about that... I have another clutch that is mint that I'm going to throw in to get me by until I rake up some money for a better one... thinking of a south bend 300Hp non organic... much less money than the organic which to me, as much as I hate to say it again.. is important
