Custom exhaust?
I have seen how some poeple make there own custom stack exhausts, and I would love to do this with my truck since I only got a 4" exhaust with a hole in it so how do I go about doing this and where do I get the stuff? Would really love a 4" exhaust into 6" or 7" black stacks right behind the cab. Any one got any tips or info for me? I dont feel like spending $500 for another exhaust

I went to a store that's really for 18-wheelers but they have exhaust pipe 3"-8" and could get bigger. They had a short piece of 5" (about 2 feet) laying around so they gave that to me.
The free way of making my 1 gen. 12-valve louder seemed to be by putting a hood stack as much as didn't like hood stacks.
So that's where that 5" went.
The pipe off the turbo is 3", free pipe is 5"..
Pipe reducers are too much so I did some welding to where I didn't need a reducer. Hard to explain what I did- pictures would help.
I welded a circle piece to bottom of 5" to close it then I cut a 3" (about) circle in the bottom of the now-one end-closed 5" closer to 1 edge. Turned the 3" up, welded the 5" to the hood (not the best way) with the bottom on the bottom and then the 3" fit perfectly into the 5".
I know you're talking about regular bed stacks but that should be easier.
Cut a hole or holes into your bed, run 90s I'm assuming, and probably some reducers unless you do what I did to avoid buying reducers.

Well I know I need to buy a 4" downpipe if i want a full 4" exhaust to stacks, but for now what if I cut into the already 4" exhaust and build off of that with reducers to the stacks in the bed? and what about the exhaust flow is there a diverter you can buy that splits into two and diverts the exhaust evenly?

if u buy anything bigger than the exit of the turbo your wasting money in my 6.5 its a 3inch so i run a 3 inch system with a flormaster going biggers just a waste of space weight and cash i think the biggest for a cummins of your vintage is a 4 inch biggest thing u can do for your system is mandrel bends crush bends do just as the title says "crush" it turns a 3 inch pipe into a 21/4 to 21/2 depending on the size of bend (note that one crush bend decreeses the size of the whole system...put 2 and 2 together and the only time u need bigger than output is if ur having a crush system made but crush bending 4 inch pipe is gay as ****...buy a couple 90* mandrels and cut to the angle u need and make a butt joint (hope ur handy with a welder)(remember a mandreel bent will be the same size all through out the bend)if ur redneck as u can use the movable joint slinky **** and some seal-it-clamps will work great but the flex exaust pipe is **** and ull be changing it often depending on climate and road salt n ****
