Default Govenor Spring mod

Well i know your suppose to buy the 3,000 gov spring but a buddy did something where he lined up the 2 springs in the pump of my truck then there was a bolt in there and he ticked it 5 times and with each tick was 100 rpms with the stock spring, what do you all think about this?

he might know what he is doing and then again he might not. you could get a run away when something is messed up.

x2 on that, and now your screwed because you didnt measure the stock stud length with a vernier caliper. so you dont know where to go, or where to set a new 3k or 4k gsk

I dont use the calipers, just initial click + 3-4 more clicks, much easier and faster, usually works better also.

Yup that's how I did mine, initial plus 3. Gonna try one more when I get some time to tear into it.

he done it about 2 years ago, and did something with the screw or something in there and i remember him telling me each click was 100 rpms and he did it 5 times and now i get 3,000 rpms till i defuel, but yea it still has the stock springs in it, any idea of what this is and how i change it back?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

basically i think what im trying to say is he tightened the springs down. but there were no springs, washers or anything used. But whatever he did caused my truck to idle high and i had to lower the idle.
