They should all be metal.. you talking the one that runs to the afc? Somebody prolly kinked the original line while messing w/ or replacing the turbo, so they just put rubber in there.

But I COULD be wrong.

well my buddy who has the rubber one got the truck from his dad and it was completely stock because he clamped his waste gate with a lil device he was given and we went to put it on my truck and we couldn't since the line was metal

clamping the wg is bad; easy to overboost that way. But somebody before his dad or whatever was messing with it and crimped off the line.

well his dad past away and he didn't really do anything to the truck besides drive it and he got the truck and then when he ordered a fuel plate it came with the boost elbow but his bro-in-law gave him that lil clamping device to clamp off his wastegate and he said he just reached up there and put it on the hose but i think we may install the boost elbow in my truck and see what it does

and he did tell me he was pushing about 40 psi with it clamped

Dude... 40psi on an hx35= bye bye hx35 in NO time at all. Unclamp the wg. But drill/tap the TIP by the compressor wheel and put the boost elbow there and dial it in for about 32psi.

all you have to do is drill/tap the TIP of the compressor housing and screw in the boost elbow. Then there is an allen head adjuster on the backside of it. You screw it in/out until you hold about 32psi of boost, as per your boost gauge. It's a sweet deal man. You can buy fuelplate/boost elbow combos for like $32 shipped on ebay.

there are two ways that the wastegate runs on these trucks, one is line that comes from the back of the afc housing-it runs across the head to the turbo wastegate, the other style is there is a rubber line that comes off the front of the compressor and goes to the wastegate, you could put the boost elbow in either location and set the boost for 32-35psi
