in relation to where the rubber line comes off the compressor could you just stick the boost elbow in there in hook the line to it or would you need to tap it out also?

NO it goes THRU the head, to the afc.

No it's supposed to be all metal. Someone musta hacked the original line and replaced it with rubber.
