im pretty sure you gain 1-2mpg, and if you bump the timing up to 15 or 16.5 it will help your mileage. what kinda mpg's you get depends on how your drive it really. and do a valet switch there 90 from piers for a 12v cuts off fuel which cuts off boost i've heard they cut your power in more than half, so it seems pretty for controling smoke, egt's and boost when ur towing

Fuel MPGs all depends on how heavy/light your right foot is. My mileage jumped about 2.5 mpg's after resetting the timing, #10 plate, and 370s, but my timing was severely retarded (like 8-9* range) when I got the truck.

its a switch that cuts your power down by alot by reducing fuel which controls how much boost you get and it all mechanical, go on cummins forum and search valet switch or on dtr you should get a better explanation than i can give you.

Theres NO need to go to Cummins Forum.

A valet switch simply prevents air going from the head to the Aernoid Fuel Control (AFC). It essentailly eliminates turbo boost.

The commercial kits usually have a solenoid but you can make one for cheap.

I go over to cummins forum for things that I get no help here for like my turbo thread.

Thanks for the help on this topic. So the Valet switch is basically just switch to eliminate the afc on demand so you can have full control in your foot?

no it cuts fuel and boost so you have way less power. if it just cut boost no one would buy one its cuts fuel which cuts boost so u get awesome mpg's and you have much less smoke. thats why when i buy my piers custom delivery valves im ordering a valet switch at the same time so i can control the heat without buying a turbo right a way.

A valet switch is a waste of money. Just control it w/ your right foot.

And like Dr. Evil said it cuts air to the AFC which in turn controls how much fuel is dumped in. Can't work the other way as thats not how a P7100 operates. If you wanted to cut fuel you'd have to put in a stock fuel plate and shove it all the way back.

I agree with the other here and say don't be afraid of big injectors on low air. Can it get hot quick, well yes. But the egt's are controllable. Shoot my injectors are .002 bigger than 435's with a few more tricks and I can controll, egt's easily. When I tow the gooseneck I leave it out of OD and egt's ill stay right around 8-900 degrees, on a hill they may hit 1100.
