it will work but to truly get the full fuel you should either grind the foot or remove it because it stops the rack from going as far fwd as possible

I didnt think the afc messed with fuel at high rpm conditions....once it moves how does it still limit rack travel

its in front of the rack how doesnt it? im just saying if you want full fuel grind it or take the foot out

no plate in mine. Been thinking about grinding one though if i start daily driving the truck for less smoke and EGTs.

no plate will not wear anything out. and a p-pump wont work at all without an afc. mabey this will help.

mine is gutted right out no plate no afc and she runns great, all the plate and afc do is limit the Governor arm at low boost and low rpm, the are not needed

yes i have removed the foot, i had it tuned for better fuel milage then wanted a quick tune job and yanked it out and never got arount to putting it back in, ive ran 7500 without the afc but about 20k without a plate, i have made a afc delete plate on the laser but never put it on?
running without an afc foot drops milage and makes it smokey, and you cant floor it from a dead stop cause it chokes the motor out, so a tuned afc is much better, when i get a tranny put in i will probably retune it,

ive ran a truck with no plate and no afc, and it ran like a scalded dog. The only problem was the crazy amount of smoke.

Thank you for all the replies and I finally figured out more of what I'm talking about. DieselMinded posted this as well as a long list to tell a new guy about his truck:

Sliding the stock plate will increase HP quite a bit. However, the stock plate profile is not designed for that so the result is usually EGT problems. Home ground plates are not a good idea either. Pump experts say to NEVER remove the plate completely. There is a pin in the pump that will eventually wear and break causeing very expensive damage. Slide the plate ATW Foward and if you still want more contact TST for a Cut Plate , they will recommend one for your truck

so I guess this is what worries me as I intend to probably get a new clutch which is a fair investment for me and dont want to deal with the ''expensive damage'' running no plate can supposedly cause

Im not trying to doubt you guys I just wanted some more info on this particular aspect of the issue
