4k and timing ????s
i have the 3ks in my truck and want to go to the 4ks, pure diesel performance sells an up- grade spring kit to make your 3ks into 4ks-has anyone used this or should i just get a whole new 4k kit, the upgrade is only 30bux, also when i do the 60lbs valve springs can i just do the 6 or do i NEED to do all 12?
as for the timing, me and buddy just bumped it so that it ran alot better with the injectors but i want to set it for 16*, how would i go about fixing it right? i have the gauge set up you use on the barrel to set it right. can anyone telling me of a thread that already talked about this?

ok thanks for the link i have read it over a few a times and get a little confessed with it all but i will stuble my way thru it (wish i could find some lame man directions)
one question tho, do i need to set it back to stock timing and then tune to 16*? or can i just figure out much more it needs and advance it? also is there a chart somewhere with mm's to *s conversion for my 160hp pump?

Based on that chart, I believe that's correct, but again without head studs it's not recommended advancing the timing beyond 16* I know that some people are running up to 17* without the studs, but it depends on what kind of a gambler you are. I'm currently at 16.5* Runs great, and the 4k springs are in, I'm not sure how much I'm loving them, may need to readjust the springs if I barely have any throttle on it jerks hard enough to send you into the steering wheel.
