And that machenshop has check out 3 others for me and told me that they werent good, but this one is. and my mechanic is doing all the work for the rebuild and everyhting eles for $1350, (I know him real well) and the rest is in parts. totlated up to $3000

it al depends on what wrong with the motor. if the block and head is messed up ur looking at more than 4-5k. u said u were wanting to build a badass motor with a different cam and pistons from what i was gathering from ur post. if so ur looking at even more for the aftermarket parts.

Tidewatermachine has balanced and blueprinted long blocks for $3000, shipping included. This is for an high quality engine that's built by people that do it right, not by someone who's just going to through a rebuild kit in it for the same money.

never bore, always sleeve.

if all you are needing is a crank, bearings, cam and piston, you probably at 1400.00 in parts.

we have a shop in Massachusetts, we can balance, blue print and zero out your block.

Well my diesel shop quoted me at 6-7grand to rebuild my motor. He said he's pretty positive it's a rod knock from when my truck ran out of oil. I saw a COMPLETE rebuild kit online for like 700$. He said if my truck needs more machine work that price may even go up. Wow.
