oh yeah forsure. that massive ht3b will be lighting real quick, and thats what i want for street driving. but like hammer said, i will be giving some up on the top end, that charger will run out of steam sooner now with the 23cm. but i will only be pulling/racing one maby twice a year. so im ok with it. im guessing i will be moving between atleast 25-30psi at 1700.

The problem with "fast" spooling turbos on a diesel is to get that you need to give on the other end, which means higher EGT's due to a tighter exhaust housing and no top end charge due to the smaller compressor wheel.
On a diesel pickup you will either excel in one or the other, spool up or top end charge. You will not find a turbo that does both as many of us have sought that for years and have yet to find it.
The turbo your telling us about is way to small to be efficent on anything more than a stock truck, even it its claimed to be a 650hp gasser charger. So you can have a better idea when you compare it to a gasser charger, look up the specs on a S300 or S400 framed charger when used on a gasser and see what it relates to for HP there and you will see what I mean.

Same deal in a twin set up, a big enough external gate would allow a smaller secondary for spool up and the bigger primary for top end.

But when you add a gate you could have the best of both worlds if it is set right. I'm gonna be doing some dyno testing with my 50mm external gate when I get my truck running again. I think with this gate allowing me to vent the extra drive press created by my .90 housing, I will be able to free up a good deal of top end while keeping the quick ( for an s400 baced charger) spool up.

Still no one thinks it would be ok with an external gate or two in a twin setup?
I'm still curious what it would be like with the HX35. Curious only.
