Default Rebuilding motor with badass parts vs. putting in used motor from junkyard?

So what is a more cost-affective solution? Rebuilding my current motor with hot parts (badass cam, rockers, springs, studs maybe etc..) or buying a bone yard motor and putting in then doing basic mods?

FYI my shop will do the rebuild or install not me. My motor pulling days are over.

Matt

how much are you looking to spend is the question?

I don't see why you can't rebuild the motor you have now. It prob only needs new rings

So a top-end rebuild would suffice? Not a complete rebuild? Would a rebuild be cheaper to pay a shop?

Only if you do it yourself and screw it up.

The question you need to answer is WHY does it need a rebuild.

Due to blowby. Everybody is saying to rebuild it because of that
