Dan...
They did not make a 14cm exhaust housing for a HX40,its 16cm and up only.
Joe....
I don't care which version or what year it was built its a HX40 correct?.
Any boost level above 40psi and its out of its compressor map and producing hot air and not cool air charges. Most all small to mid framed chargers are only good to between 40 and 50psi before they run out of their compressor map.If you want big boost and wider compressor map ranges then you need to go to alot larger charger than you will ever get lit drag racing or daily driving. There are some S400 framed singles that can be used but the trade off is how late they light and how much of a pain they are to daily drive.
Your looking for a single charger to make big boost, lower your Burban's ET's and still be street friendly and I am trying to tell you that charger does not exist. That type of charger has been sought by every diesel owner since the beginning of the performance era and has yet to be found.the ONLY way you get a good compromise is with a hard hitting set of twins like a HX40/HT3B combo or a S300/S400 combo.Otherwise the low end lag will kill you and drive you nuts with a street truck with a automatic.

I didn't say anything about upgrading the shaft, there is no way to do this on a HX40.The shaft size is what it is from Holset and there are no upgrades for it that I know of.

no, the phat shafts are turbos made by industrial injections i think correct me if im wrong. but they are there own fleet of turbos. you could also try a superphat shaft 64/71/14 or something in that matter. they are hard hitting turbos. also to your wallet. i dont think you could spool it quick tho. maby try the phat shaft 62 or something. im sure hammer will chime back in soon.
and thanks for the info, i thought you could get a 14 for a 40 my bad
