What to do what to do???? next step?
With my mods I have what would you do?
I have a option to run a hx40 pro 60/76/18 or the stock turbo. I use this as a dd and run the 1/4 miles through the summer? Looking for the most hp with fuel only..... thanks |
i'd go with an hx40

Make sure that HX40 has the upgraded stronger shafts.

An hx40 is decent.. a REAL hx40 is around 40hp over a stock turbo, but if you are looking to go FAST-FAST, I'd go bigger than an hx40.
The hx40 are great turbos and HAVE a tough shaft. Though if you hvae a few bucks to spend there may be better ones for going super fast. |

Honestly I'm not sure. Wait for someone more knowledgeable to pipe in. What size exh housing, what size wheel and how many blade?

xh40 pro has 60/86-76/64 18 exhaust 7 blade billet compressor wheel |
Joe...
ANY of the HX40's are out of their compressor map above 40psi. The ability for making more boost pressure does not mean it will provide efficent power. Also, you should run the 16cm exhaust housing for the best spool on a HX40. I have seen HX40's go into the mid to high 400's for power on fuel alone and they are a great turbo for someone on a budget. That being said they are known to break their shafts and blow the covers off with too much boost pressure. Most guys who run them pin the covers for longevity and are careful when they lift off of them. |

The one I have is a wastegated turbo that started in production in 2007. This is not the standard hx40 model. The shaft is a 11mm and is alot bigger than the hx35 |
