Default Do I need a billet input shaft?

I almost have my engine back together and I'm gettin ready for a trans and TC. The final build is as listed in my sig. I think I should be around 450hp (any estimates?). I already have a HD flex plate, but do I need a billet input shaft? I know it would be best, but after what I've spent in the last few weeks, I'd like to save a few bucks if I can.

Billet input is a must IMO...the other two are nice but not needed. I have always been told do the billet, do the intermediate if you can afford it and leave the output stock to act as a fuse.....it can be changed without pulling the trans.

You'll be better off to go ahead and get it, if your stock shaft were to go if could also harm your TC. No question you need one if your gonna be doin boosted launches

That's what I was afraid of. I also forgot to mention that I could be towing up to 14,000lbs. And since the local dragstrip is only a couple of miles away, there might be a boosted launch or two in it's future too
