Default Intake Plate

I took my intake plate off to see what I can do to help the air flow. As I soon as I got it off, I could see the head's design is terrible(5&6are really choked off). I'll probably try to mill out a tunnel ram when I have time. But for right now, it seems to be pretty obvious that if I rotated the stock plate end for end, that it should provide a much more even flow to all cylinders.

Have any of you that tried that? Does it make much of a difference?

i would think that going to a twin ram would solve this problem

When you pull the plate off, and look inside the head's plenum. There's are large hump inside between cylinders 4&5. Looks like it's to accomodate a filter mounted to the under side of the head, but on mine it's not being used. The hump looks like it would cut the air flow in half to cylinders 5&6. On top of that, there's a sensor mounted directly above it, that looks like it would cause even more of a restriction. All that in the air flow has got to cause some uneven pressures and turbulence.

If I rotate my 12v plate 180 degrees (24v is a different plate,) then the inlet is over the hump, and the hump would likely act as more of a deflector routing the air more porportionately to the cylinders. At least that's what it looks like to me.

A tunnel ram or twin ram would solve it, but I was just wondering if anything was to be gained by just rotating the stock plate.
