Plus they both have the same overdrive ratio.
Here are the gear ratios for each transmission....
NV4500......
Gear Ratio
1st 5.61
2nd 3.04
3rd 1.67
4th 1.00
5th 0.75
R 5.61*
The NV4500's were rated for 450 ft lbs of torque from the factory.
NV5600......
Gear Ratio
1st 5.63
2nd 3.38
3rd 2.04
4th 1.39
5th 1.00
6th 0.73
R 5.63
The NV5600's had two different versions, one for our Rams which was rated for 550 ft lbs of torque and a HD version for the larger trucks which was rated for 650 ft lbs of torque.
For the cost associated with doing this and the parts for the 5600's getting scarce I would say change the gears and rid yourself of the 4.10's and go to 3.54's.Your other option is to go to a taller tire,33" or 35", which would be a great fit for the 4.10 gears.

Ian I know Matt put the g56 in his cr and he loves it but I'm still not sold on it I've seen way to many explode. The 5600 is a great tranny for a lower powered tow rig but it can't handle what I've seen countles 5spds handle. The 4500 though does need a big input and 5th gear fixed. My truck is still sitting from that little nut walking off the shaft. That was even the updated nut.
