does any one know of a roof rack that is made for our trucks ... ie. like flat bottom styles

just to get an idea ... was gana build one similar to the last pic but if there are ones that are built for our truck that i could mod then that would prob be better ... just wondering before i dive into this project

I have never seen a roof rack for our trucks at all.

 

hmmm looks like im buildin somethin ... ithink i am going to buy one that is sposed to mount to cars factory cross bar roof racks and modify so i can mount it to the roof ... ill prob have to well in backets or something

 

i have one that came with my truck i just got, but its attached to the flat bed

 

not really wat im looking for .. i want one thats on the roof only and not mounted to the bed ... like what you find on baja chase trucks and 4x jeeps and such

 

Lund used to make some kind of rack for the box...but I dont think it really was for over the cab.

 

ya i know wat kinds your talking about and want to kind of stay away form those ... i want to just make a roof rack for the cab for desert trips and for my spare ... o well .. i think i know the direction i am going to take ... going to buy a pre built roof rack and mod it to work .... we shall see when time and money allow the new project ... just got new tires and wheels so there went all project money ... but when it happens i will take pictures and log everything and do a write up on it incase any one else has thought of doing this
