I removed my 100 plate and there was not much difference at all. Temps were the same, I just haven't gotten around to putting it back in. I have my afc set up with shop air for full travel around 35 psi and the smoke screw is just touching the diaphragm there is only a haze of gray smoke at full throttle and pulls real good.

do you gain much if any by flipping the washers. i got plate full forward, a tst afc spring, star wheel 3/4 of the way forward. havent messed with the smoke screw yet, and are there any gains by grinding a 1/8 off the barrel?

By flipping the washers and grinding the barrel you allow full travel of the afc foot.

X2.....BUT...
I have been plateless for 200k of the 220k that my truck has on it now.

And as for stopping or does it ever end..........I can answer that.....

YES!....When the crank is laying out on the ground asking what just happened.

post number 4 and 23.

here is post 23 that will answer the question from my experience.
