Plan of attack right now is HX35 or HX40 over an Ht3b.....I really like PDR's kit and I have been looking at the Source Auto kit....but I'll see what the vendor's here have to offer. I was looking at this one on KT's site today:
KT Performance

Of course when I get ready to do it I might be looking at an S300/S400 kind of combo too....I just wanted a plan of attack and whether compounds would be better than a single in my combo.

IF and that's a big IF I do twins it will be the HX/Ht3B set-up. If I even keep the truck. I might be working on a deal for a 1st Gen....we'll see. What ever this truck is my DD and I don't want to do anything that will make it a pain to drive everyday. i have my Duster for speed and power and honestly it's cheaper to make it go faster.

First gens are cool and I love them but when you can't steer or stop things get hairy. I've drove a bunch of them and they are all death traps.

My 89 stopped better than both my 96's.
I removed the ABS on the 89 and installed bigger rear drums and cylinders.
Steering well that's another story, but I was used to my 79 Ford F250.
I had a Borgeson Shaft to put on it, but I never got around to it.
Don't know how much it would have helped, but most say it makes a big difference.

And Ride.....the 96 MUCH better, I still would love to have another 1st Gen...

I've hit bridges with my buddies old school that shook the truck so hard it lost oil press for a second. Nothing will ride rougher than the powerstroke with 7 1/4 ton springs up front.

duster, i just fabbed up my own twin turbo kit myself and im only 16 years old.
i used my hx35/40 hybrid on top of a garret ht3b. the kit that utuilizes this setup ive seen for almost 4 grand. getting the ht3b, oil lines, pipe, boots every single thing i needed to fab it up all myself. i think i barly broke 1000$ it isnt hard at all to do yourself, and youll save a **** load of money. i love my setup, i will really love it when i buy both new exhaust housing and ups delivers my timing kit. but thats my opinion on what you should do. if you wanna see any pics or want help let me know good luck
