Boatman, a #100 isnt necessarily the best choice for an auto transmission.

Dr. Evil - 100 plate for an auto trans...
Dr. Evil: I was thinking that a plate that fueled mainly at higher RPMs/throttle positions would be easier on a transmission than a plate that fueled a lot down low. I was under the impression that most of the strain on a 47re that would really hurt it comes from "off-the-line" shock, and a plate that fuels at higher RPMs wouldn't put that much of a strain on it.
This truck is not going to tow anything over 5,000 lbs and only a couple of times per year and usually only around the neighborhood (hauling my boats in the fall and putting them in in the spring at the local ramp). And I'm not going to drag race the thing, just want some passing/merging power when I need it, so the trans should have a pretty easy life.
Do you still think a 100 plate is a poor choice for a stock trans? If so, what would you recommend?
Thanks much...Steve.

Welcome Steve
Just my opinion but the 100 is the best plate around, like any bomb you do it will add power and judging by how you use yer right foot it can and will hurt yer truck, this plate will prolly add about 75HP..................you are correct that a 100 is stock profile for take off then it goes to full fuel profile after that, bottom line if ya jam the throttle to the floor from a stand still then yes it will eat yer tranny up but if you treat yer truck with respect then it will last forever, you should build the tranny as well eventually though
