I paid $55 for a washable non-oiled filter. AFE ProDry S.

The BHAF is a large paper filter that flows 680CFM, and is much more efficient than any of the aftermarket filters you can buy - filters more dirt. i.e. smaller sized particles. Drawbacks are it is big, expensive, paper, and non-reuseable. The reason I list paper as a drawback here is because there's no aftermarket housing for our trucks. Some have come up with nifty homemades that work quite well, stock pot, etc. Most just throw them in there under the hood with maybe an outerwears for protection and call it good.
I found a comparable filter (Wix46433) that is only about a half inch longer, 1.2" thinner, flows 625CFM and only costs $25. I'm working on a project to mod the stock 1stGen airbox for it.
You 2nd Gen guys are on your own.
