Default Clutch/Fuel Plate

I was looking at getting a single disks clutch for my 96 cummins the one that is rated at 550hp/1000ftlbs the truck is stock right now but i am looking to put 400 hp to the wheels. some times i pull heavy loads maybe twice a year. what do you guys think will it hold. who else runs one of these clutches how do you like it.

I run the con OFE by southbend, I have 375 hp and 941 tq...................you prolly need the CON FE for your goals

well i am in need of a clutch and i pull heavy loads all the time and was thinking of getting the single disc valair clutch that is rated for 1100ft lbs. what do you think??

dont if you dont thave a 1 3/8ths input shaft that clutch locks hard and can snap your shaft right off

thats right you need a better input shaft but valair has many differnt clutches avalible

I would go with a South Bend Con FE or possibly even a dd clutch because once you get to 400 or 500hp youll always want more,and go ahead and upgrade the input shaft and probably the hydros as well, your always better off to do everything right off the bat instead of doing one thing at a time, been there done that. what all does the replacing the input shaft intell and how much would cost( parts and labor)??

you unbolt if from the front of the trans and pull it out ost depends on where you get it and if its a billet shaft 500-800 bucks
