4 gsk with a auto trans???
I put my springs in a while back. I watched what they will do and such now I am just wondering this.
I can rev to 4000 and that is fine. If you are driving it will pull hard to 2500 then it seems like like you over rev it past 2500 and you need to shift.
My question is what do I need to do so it will pull hard to 3500 to 4000 rpm?
thanks

Drive a stick in 3rd gear n rev it out. Lets say your truck pulls hard till 2500 but keep reving till 3500-4000 it will pull but it feels like you shifted to late because you held out the shift to long. That is what I am saying...

have your TV cable re-adjusted. my trans guy dropped the hammer when the trans slams 2nd around 2500 that's considered normal. just b/c you can spin 4k doesnt mean gearing will support a pull to a higher rpm. shift points are set for the engines power band and the transmissions internals. chock it up to normal operation

The 4k and higher gov kits are really for pulling and drag racing its more or less so you can spool a big set of twins and do killer boosted launches. They help a little when you wanna drop it down a gear and pass on the freeway but other then that they really weren't meant for daily driven trucks imo yes I have a 4k in my truck but when I got mine I got my 60 pound springs with it as a package and mainly got the springs for my exhaust brake. The trans shift is set by the tv and gov pressure regulator tho so really 4ks in an auto isn't needed but the do help. If you've noticed when the trans is in od with the stock springs the pump defuels at 2250 but in lockup it will fuel to about 3k that's because the tv cable is the controll for that when you put a gsk in you're basically telling the pump to keep goin even tho the tv cable is saying to stop. it didn't make sense to me but when mark at pdr told me this I said then what's the piont and he said there isn't one but then I put a nv4500 in my truck and that was the end of that

So what will it take to peak it out to 3500?
