I know people that have run a #0 plate with a stock tranny. The 12v are mechanical so its up to you on how much hp you want to create on fuel alone you just cant adjust them on the fly like a 24v. You can put a #0 plate and your going to get more fuel and hp which should not effect the stock transmission too much. But if you are running bigger hp injectors you should probably look into getting a bigger turbo and a tranny upgrade. A Torque Converter will definitely help with some of that power management. With your setup you are probably pushing, not trying to short change you or bad mouth you of course, I would guess 290-310hp guessing your injectors are 90hp. I think your stock tranny would hold up to around 400hp but don't quote me. I think the TC would help some. Someone else can definitely answer your question better than I, with more detail. But thats what I have heard and I hope it helps you somehow.

It all depends on the condition of your trans. I've also heard of people running 0 plates on stock trans. I've also had a buddy that ran 370 injectors, full cuts, and a 66 turbo on his sled puller with a stock head gasket (for a little while). That being said, just putting an exhaust and a 6 plate on mine started slipping the trans. You could get a tc and vb and it may hold the power your looking for, or you could just save up and get the whole trans and be done with it so you don't have to do it again.

well dont go with a triple disk converter on a stock input shaft it will break with a converter and valve body youll hold a good bt of power the next thing to go is the input shaft

Another factor that determines what your transmission can handle is how your drive... If you go ***** out all the time the only way to go is a built transmission that is designed to take some abuse and go ***** out all the time... Now if you drive like a resonable person, and race it here and there, you can make a stock tranny with a TC and VB work. But, you might as upgrade the input shaft while your doing it so you can get a nice triple disc converter, thats just my opion

x2 on just saving and getting a trans that is worth it... the probelm with power is that we always crave more. if you build your trans to handle X ammount of power and you happen to over do it (as most of us do) then that trans is up the creek and your onto the next trans. with the parents truck we've got about 6 grand in rebuilt transmissions b/c my penny pinching mother doesnt like to shell out right up front; where we could have had a REALLY good trans for 3200 give or take plus the cost of a TC we've blown an extra 2k where it wasnt needed. thanks to jerk off dealerships and trans shops... i salute you

however if your working on a budget; TC and VB will do ya up nice for awhile; my trans guy doesnt recommend over 400 hp on stock input and output shafts. so as others have warned trans life will be directly effected by your driving habbits
