i agree with jaybuller at least in the older cummins trucks those atuos are junk my friends had a 94 identical to mine only with an auto an some bigger injectors an a few other lil things and he replaced that every other month it seemed.. idk but ive beat many autos with my stick... an they last a helluva lot longer

 

A well set up auto will take a beating and ask for more. An NV on the other hand will take a beating but you have to decide whether you want to pull the trans becuase of a burnt clutch or broken gears especially 3rd and 5th.

 

yeah but if autos are better than manuals than tell me why 99% of semis are manuals and not autos

 

Price, and the fact that when you get that big it takes more power to turn an auto than a straight stick.

 

one other reason that i didnt see touched is that an auto is generally better than a stick in a turbod vehicle ... because between gears you dont loose your boost because your not getting out of the throttle ... now even still i would rather have a stick ... im wanting to do the swap on my dd and build the auto for the prerunner for that fact
