Default here is what I found....

This should be right...correct me if I am wrong...

To do this, you don't have to make a block off plate or remove the AFC housing entirely. You just need to remove the arm. This is easy....on the front of the AFC housing is a 10mm bolt that hold what looks like a bellcrank and shaft. Remove this bolt, then with a small screwdriver, pop the bellcrank loose and pull out the shaft. It will have o rings on it to seal the housing. Once this is out, lift out the AFC arm, put the shaft back in and snug up the retaining bolt again. Now it doesn't matter where the AFC housing is, or the smoke screw, or the starwheel....so just bolt it back on. re-attach your boost line....it'll still act oin the diaphram, but the diapohram won't be doing anything so don't worry about it. If you want to remove the AFC signal line go ahead...just remember to replace it with a plug in the manifold!! Now you right foot does all the adjusting for you on the fly, and is completely dynamic to conditions...cool huh? It only takes a few minutes to do, so if you don't like it, put her back in and forget about it,

If you do this you have no low boost fule control. You get all you fuel and a lot of heat and smoke. On most stockish trucks this much fuel will put the fire out.

I just ordered a #100 plate, would that and gutting the afc be to much for my truck?

Why in the world do you want to gut your afc on a street-driven truck? If you want more smoke, remove the oil line to your turbo. Should be loads of fun.

I don't think he wants to lose his oil line to his turbo. I think that would be a bad move. He needs that line so he don't fry the bearing on the turbo.

Well I just gutted mine and I am going to put it back in. I lost hp with it out. I figured I would tell you before you do it to save you some grief. If you are looking for less take off and alot of smoke that is what you will get. I just think it is better to tune it then gut it.....jmpo

later joe

Have fun no matter what you do...

This is most common for a gutted AFC. Too much fuel off the line "puts out the fire" as Piers would say. Too much fuel bogs the engine by choking out the charge and you get lots of smoke and less power. You have to have a pretty steady and soft foot to go without an AFC and get the power you want..

Thanks for posting results!
