i dont know how old he is. but! i dont feel like i need to bash him into the ground be cause he likes to smoke out ricers. i do it all the time as i am sure all you do. dont take the kids question out of hand. tell him how to get more fuel to the cylinder and dont waste your time with gauges and turbo talk. let him blow it. its his god given/american right to drive what ever he wants how ever he wants. i know what yall are saying but talk of turning your pipe in to the truck is a little drastic. you know i respect all of yalls opinions on everything see these smilies lets do what they do and watch him get a driving wrecklessly ticket

I'm right there with the rest of you on the smoke thing, but I don't think that the guy needs to be flamed about it. Its pretty common to see newbies obsessed with it, I mean early on I was just the same as most of us were, but outgrew it for clean power, as it seems many of you guys have.

As for the original poster. Smoke is just unburned fuel, so you either need more fuel or less air. Like these guys said, you are at risk of melting stuff if you don't monitor your set up.

How about instead of bashing him lets tell him why smoke is bad.... Guys going around smoking people out is not going to help our sport but neither is bashing a guy to the ground because he wants to do it. We have all smoked people who **** us off out. Anyone who says they haven’t hasn’t really enjoyed there bombed diesel yet. We need to educate him on why its bad before we beat him for it. When I first got my 98.5 back in 04 all i wanted was to smoke I didn’t care about power just smoke. Well a few guys steered me the right way cough cough Doc. Im not saying they didnt bash me but they also educated me as well and that’s why im still in this sport.

As for gauges ive been trying and im going to try much harder to keep my mouth shut on performance mods if i dont see gauges in a sig.

Doc is my BUD!!!

Rant off

I agree with yall above!

Ok, I'll bite. I'm asking you for the respect of the forefathers of Diesel Performance to please read up and figure out why smoke is not such a good thing! Believe me you will find it. While we enjoy seeing the smoke shows at the events, it's the smoke shows of the innocent people getting bombed out in public that will get all sorts of the WRONG attention, from the wrong people, people whom may have a strong hand in setting us back in the future. We just have too many ignorant high schoolers, heck even grown individuals who just want to smoke out the town! Read up and figure out why and when smoke has a place!...

Please wise up to the big picture here.

As for any help....I am sure you will get some good info soon enough....

Just remember your EGT will go up without a turbo upgrade. So if you grind a 0 plate, install larger DV and injectors that will fuel the truck almost to the max.Make sure in install a pryro gauge.
