Anyone go from a 3k to a 4k?

i have the 4k in my 96. i out it in so i would know that i would have fuel up to, and beyond, 3200. the stock starts to defuel at 2100ish, 3K starts to defuel at 2700ish and the 4k at 3600ish, so i wanted to make sure the truck didn't defuel. i've accidentally hit 3800-3900 before, stock head gasket, stock valves, stock valve springs etc. just get the valve springs and call it good. not much difference over the 3K unless you rev to 3200 then it'll pull a little harder at 2700 and above....

Some say it is a difference, I personally dont have one because I dont have the rest of the parts to compliment a 4K....I have a 3K and it works great for the parts I have on the truck..I dont have a turbo to burn alot of fuel, and I dont have a trans to hold a lot of power...a 3K works great for mild performance app. If you are looking to go to the track every now and then or pull a sled, I say it should make a difference there, but for everyday driving I like a 3K just fine, and I dont need to spend the extra on new valvesprings.
You should not need a headgasket for a 4K GSK. Unless you start to push alot of boost or timing you will be fine.
