Which turbo is best for me

The BD SuperB 58 (Borg Warner s300g 174330) is a solid all around recommendation, its a great balance of airflow, spool up, towing ability, and runs cool in addition. Spool up was as quick as the HX35, while towing & top end were enhanced with lower EGTs due to much enhanced airflow.
This would be my first choice for an all around application, rather than the bigger SXE series.

If it was my truck I'd put in gauges, a cam plate with boost elbow and gov springs then get the tranny setup. Putting gov springs first will let the tranny shop setup your full throttle shift points for close to redline, those P7100 pumps pull back the fulcrum lever backing off fuel before redline without the springs.

I've run all three, the BD 174430, the box 174430 and the 13749880014.
The BD mods - adjustable wastegate actuator - is useful. The 360 bearings? Not at this level, nothing wrong with a 270 bearing, I've seen my share of FMW 360 bearings disintegrate.
As far as comp wheel, there was no difference between the BD 174430 and the box 174430 that I ran.
As far as the 13749880014 goes - not even a true SXE - still built on a 174430 frame, and same exhaust housing. So it doesn't have the better comp cover, just a "billet" compressor wheel, with a slightly machined housing, no real spooling advantage over a 174430 due to the 13749880014 billet compressor wheel being heavier.
Same turbine wheel, the SXE's "unclipped turbine wheel" doesn't apply to the 13749880014, as all 65mm Borg turbine wheels are unclipped. All the above really doesn't justify the 66lbs airflow vs the 174430's 61lbs airflow, wish they'd made the 57/65/.80 a true SXE like the SXE362.
I will say the best BD mod to the Borgs is the cool little BD nameplate :-)
