Being the same block i imagine some of the earlier 24v engines had the problem but it shouldnt have been many!
It was supposed to have been fixed with the updated case on the 24V but we have a member here (a Sponsor actually) whos Dads truck dropped the dowel pin - and that truck was an 2002.

Personally i wouldnt go for it, if your going to spend a good buck to have someone install it i wouldnt start off by getting raped on the parts!
Yeah,if you are paying to have someone install all the stuff anyway make em' put it together for you,I'm sure I can get you a banks sticker if you have to have one....

Why if the dowel pin has been such a problem has Dodge not fixed 'em....

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

What causes this dowel pin to come out ...is it chance or what?

On thing, you REALLY have to shop around to find a shop that is very knowledgeable on the 12V. This just isnt a bolt on parts deal. To get the most out of the performance parts you have to find someone that can do some tuning for you.

Abnd one more thing - have you tabbed your Killer Dowel Pin (KDP)??
What and where would i buy the stuff needed to upgrade this truck? The Banks name on my truck has nothing to do with why i would buy them...it just happens to be what that shop sells and i was just lookin to see what you guys thought about them...it just figured to me that since i'm not experienced in installing this stuff..or even know anyone who has knowledge of this 12-valve truck...the problem is even if i buy the parts cheaper it still doesnt get 'em installed and tuned..So i just figured that's the price i'm gonna have to pay if i want my truck upgraded...i'll have to buy there stuff if i want them to put it on ...ya know what i mean

You can get all the parts that come in that kit for much cheaper by buying it from vendors that we have here on the site. I personally recomend JBarker of Holland Court DIesel Performance. He can get you all the parts you want or need then just take them to the shop and have them installed.

Alright, well it just so happens I have a business card from Dave's Diesel Injection Service in my wallet. He's located in 2 spots, Muncie, and Angola Indiana... I don't know how far they are from you, but if you want their info PM me and I'll send it to you. They are super knowledgeable guys around a 12V. If you want a shop that'll tune your truck from mild to wild at a fair price I would talk to those guys, Rick Smith at the Angola shop is highly recommended.

Lets just walk through this and see what kind of ideas on parts we can come up with. What kind of HP are you looking for? And what are you mainly doing with the truck?

Well the truck is completely stock..it is for sure gonna have to be a daily driver....but man, i tell ya.... readin all these threads about what you guys can do to these 12-v's is addicting. I had no idea the potential of these trucks when i ran across it at the lot...even the salesman said "of all the trucks we have on the lot...this is the one that wont be here for long". I love the truck as is ...except for the SLOW acceleration from the start....turbo lag? Bare with me as this is the first diesel anything i've ever driven...so what do you suggest for a truck that will be used as everyday driver that will also be pullin my travel trailer (8,000lbs tops) 4-5 times a month.
