Default Lower Boost Pressure?

can you lower boost pressure on a stock wastegate? with my current setup im running about 42-44psi, for longivrty of my turbo and trans for now i want to drop that to 30-32 psi, is that possible on a stock wastegate? any mods that can be done to achieve that?

you can adjust the gate to open sooner, you can enlarger the ports, but in reality you have a baby turbo on a truck that obviously wants to breathe better. you are still going to over speed the charger because the turbine cant take the amount of gasses wanting to come out. an hx35 can survive around 40-45lbs for awhile as long as you dont bark it, like at all! you go chirpin it and it will fill your intercooler with cool little pieces. its probably about time to start looking for a larger charger.

also does your hx have an adjustable boost elbow? if so try replacing that with the factory elbow to allow the gate to start opening @ 17lbs.

no i do not have a box but how to do you adjust it to open sooner? or enlarge the ports? my hx35 has been barked several....several times. im pretty sure my chaft is flexing pretty bad in it, im going to put another charger on it when i find one but i would like to lower the boost pressure to keep it living until i do. Also, i do not have a boost elbow, its all factory, when i got the truck it woulf not boost past about 19psi, my hose is not blocked its all the same as it came from the factory, im thinking something may be wrong if i can get it to boost past 40psi when its suppose to open around 17ish.....

nope if your truck is running right you will over speed the stocker every time. take away some fuel until you get a bigger charger.

currently im running 5x14 inectors, and no the are not too big to whoever will say they are too big, no they dont smoke everywhere, but as im thinking if the wastegate opens at around 17-19 psi why can i still achieve 40+psi? i wish i could find a way to modify something so that i cant get past 30-32psi right now. Is that possible at all?

hard to argue with that kind of arrogance. if you haven't melted your engine down from excessive heat yet than you have a SERIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fuel supply problem. those are very large injectors and way way over sized for a stock charger.

this will be my last post on this thread. good luck

for people who dont believe you can run 5x14 in a stock setup yes you can, the people who dont approve of this are people who are too arragant to accept and listen, 5x14 run cooler than marine 370 injectors with the wrong spray angle, at 55mph on a level surface with marine 370 injectors i run roughly 600 degrees on the pyro with 5x14 injectors i run right at 500 degrees on my pyro, with a properly tuned truck you can sucessfully run 5x14 without any trouble nor worries, 5x14 is the max the absolute max you can run on a stock turbo in my opnion, if you ever tried 5x16 on a stock turbo its impossible, 5x14 with stock fuel plate and a tuned AFC is more than acceptable, i will reccommend running them over 370's any day of the week to anyone, to all who thing people are arrogant for running 5x14 on a stock charger, then i will argue you are the arrogant one who listens to other peoples input and wont try it yourself, i have sence changed my stock charger with 5x14 injectors to a phatshaft 62 with 5x14, i had to change fuel plate turn my fuel system back up and complete readjust my AFC, i would personally say that 5x14 is the best injector if you know what your doing and can tune a 12 valve to your uses of it. All who appose of this please tell my why you appose of it. i Would understand if it was a ki just trying to blow smoke but thats not my situation, i can tow 8-10k up a 6% grade and never get over 1100 degre on the pyro, so all who say 5x14 is too big, please go rethink your reasoning for saying such a comment. thank you
